As the Payroll Specialist, you will be the primary preparer and processor of Exodus’ payroll and work closely with the Payroll Manager to identify ways to improve the payroll process. If you’re a critical thinker who likes to problem solve and has experience processing payroll for a global company, we’d love to hear from you!
What You Will Do
- Prepare and process biweekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time
- Assist the Payroll Manager in identifying ways to improve and streamline the payroll process
- Liaise with Exodus' in-house legal team and TriNet as needed to ensure compliance with any payroll-related law changes
- Assist Exodus team members with any payroll-related questions or concerns
- Ensure proper documentation for SOX compliance and yearly audits.
- Assist the accounting team with light, general accounting functions
Who You Are
- Payroll experience: a minimum of 3-5 years of experience preparing and processing payroll for a remote and global company
- Associate’s degree or higher in HR, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to balance multiple tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated and able to work well autonomously
- You live in the US in the Eastern or Central time zones
A Plus/Preferred
- Working with PEOs (ideally TriNet) preferred
- CPP (or working towards CPP), preferred
- Entry-level accounting experience, preferred
- Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements as related to payroll, preferred
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency, preferred

Benefits
Health: Most of our health insurance plans are covered 100% for you and covered 50% for your dependents. We’ll also cover dental insurance. If you are outside of the United States, we will reimburse you up to $500 per month for any medical and dental insurance for you and your dependents.
PTO: 30 days of paid time off per year on top of a flexible schedule where you can work wherever and whenever. If you’re part-time with us, you’ll still receive 15 days of paid time off.
Unlimited Bereavement: We will pay you your full salary for the first two weeks for the loss of any immediate family members but we allow you to take all the time you need to grieve outside of that.
Parental Leave: 13 weeks of fully paid leave with and a month of flexible work for the primary caregiver. 4 weeks of paid leave if you are the child's secondary caregiver.
